Juni 2007 in berlin und uffta-uffta-uffta The transgenial (that is, alternative) CSD happened almost one week ago. Others have documented the whole thing, like here and there. It was fun until the police started arresting people for “riding a bike in an unsafe manner” or “mummery” - one person was wearing a bra over her face -, or another person simply for being the host of the big show in the end. Not to mention the discriminatory jokes and remarks, or the pushing and shoving from the police all along the way. But the parade stayed together and spoke up against these attacks, so there was a good feeling of support in there at least. Of course it would have been nicer to not have to deal with our “protectors” from the state at all. I suppose things would sometimes work out a lot better if they stayed home.
